Academic Departments

Computer and Information Technology

This department is one of the standout departments within the College of Applied Professions. It offers several computer-related programs, including Programming Computer Applications and Web Pages, Mobile Application Programming, Computer Systems Engineering Technology, Computer Network and Internet Systems, Multimedia, and Digital Media. These programs are regularly updated to ensure they meet the standards approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. This allows the programs to stay current with the needs of the local job market and prepare graduates for success in a variety of fields.

Administrative and Financial Science Department

This department is one of five within the College of Applied Professions and offers seven programs that are in high demand within the job market. In the academic year of 2022-2023, the department had 522 students enrolled in its programs. The department is committed to continuously developing these programs in collaboration with industry partners to ensure that its graduates have the skills needed to succeed in the ever-evolving job market.

To meet the needs of the rapidly changing market, the department has changed one of its programs to the Dual Education System (Dual - Sandwich Program). This is the first program at the national level to be offered in this way to the intermediate diploma system, and other programs are expected to follow suit.

Department of Banking and Finance

This department is one of the notable departments within the College of Applied Professions, offering programs in Technical Accounting and Computerized Financial Management, as well as Travel ‎& Tourism. The department aims to help the college achieve its goals by producing highly skilled graduates with practical and theoretical knowledge that can meet the needs of the public and private sectors in accounting, finance, and computer technology.

The Department of Banking and Finance has a highly experienced academic staff that is responsible for teaching all the courses offered within the department. The staff possesses high-level teaching capabilities and provides quality education to students. The department has several specialized laboratories that offer students adequate training on all financial and accounting programs that are commonly used in the local job market.

Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Professions

The Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Professions is part of the College of Applied Professions, which is the foundation of Palestine Polytechnic University. The department is known for its highly qualified and experienced academic and administrative staff, who strive to develop the programs of the college to keep up with technical progress and meet the needs of the job market. They aim to prepare graduates who can perform tasks to a high standard.

Apart from academics, the department is also dedicated to developing the spirit of initiative, creativity, and self-reliance among graduates by offering extracurricular activities and specialized workshops.

The department aims to strengthen its ties with the local community by organizing technical courses and workshops in various fields, and by having students propose solutions to technical problems facing the local industry. This helps improve the department's reputation and enhances the opportunities for its graduates.

The department has state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with traditional, artistic, computerized, and automatic equipment. Students receive both theoretical and practical training, which equips them with excellent technical skills and knowledge in their field of study. This prepares them to excel in the job market.

Civil and Architectural Engineering Professions Department

The Department of Engineering Professions is the cornerstone of Palestine Polytechnic University and boasts a team of highly qualified and experienced instructors. The department has continuously developed its programs to keep up with the rapid changes in the local and global markets. Its primary goal is to produce skilled graduates capable of meeting the community's shortage of technical professionals and contributing to a positive change in human and material resources.

The department focuses on fostering initiative, creativity, and self-reliance among its graduates to help them integrate into public and private institutions, companies, and engineering offices, as well as establish their own technical works and workshops in their areas of expertise.

To strengthen its ties with the local community, the department organizes technical courses and workshops in various fields, encouraging students to seek solutions to technical problems that the local market faces. This has earned the department an excellent reputation and opened up new job prospects for its graduates.

The department is currently conducting a comprehensive study to develop new programs such as the Industrial Product Design program, which it recently launched. It is equipped with engineering workshops, computer laboratories, and other resources that provide students with both theoretical and practical training, setting them apart from other graduates in and outside the university.
